Fire department jobs are valuable for a many reasons. The benefits are good, the hours are great – full days on and full days off. Woman think fireman look great in uniform. Ok, maybe that one is a little superficial but I do think it is in the mind of many young men looking to be a firefighter.
In order to get into most fire departments you need to go to a fire academy for some basic training. Once you graduate in most cases, you are eligible to apply for a fire department job.
The Fire Academy can be a very demanding experience, both physically and mentally.
